About Us
I will lift my eyes to the mountains. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth. Psalm 121: 1-2
"God is our help and our keeper, and he put the International Vision of Faith and his Pastor, as weapons to fulfill this promise. In just three years of life, God opened countless doors and opportunities for this ministry to faithfully represent and reach people with a vision of hope, love, and restoration. Let us be attentive to see how God will continue to be glorified through this powerful ministry. "
Not simply a church ... but a ministry.
The Vision of Faith International ministry was born in 2006 and is truly a testimony of a "vision of faith". After much prayer and different events that confirmed the call, God put in the heart of Pastor Oscar LaSalle a vision to reach Latinos in the United States. This vision was not simply to open a church, but; a ministry that covers all the needs of the community.
Vision of Faith began as its name indicates, "by faith", without money or physical home, but with a place in the heart of God, who guided the pastor to the Edwards cinema in West Covina. An unconventional place to hold a Christian meeting. God showed that he had, and continues to have, a special purpose for this ministry: to break down conventional barriers and molds of Hispanic churches in California. The ministry started with 200 people and came to collect 450 in a simple movie theater. Such was the impact of this non-traditional church that people came to know it as "the church of the cinema."
After a year of struggles and hard work, many souls were won for the Lord, but He had greater challenges for this ministry since in 2007 he would begin his television program "Vision of Faith with Pastor Oscar LaSalle" by the television network Almavisión . This new challenge would open the doors to thousands of homes, not only in the United States but also in Latin America through its international reach. In a short time, God showed that this program was not a vision of men, but of Him to reach an afflicted and needy people that through the program would receive the Word of the Lord.
The response of the viewers was practically instantaneous, since from its first episode the calls have not stopped arriving; calls from drug-addicted people, depressed on the verge of suicide and even in prostitution, who felt the warm hands of the Lord touching their hearts through the message of Dr. Oscar LaSalle. When the first year on the air was celebrated in 2008, the television program brought together hundreds of people to celebrate its first anniversary at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Event that served as a springboard for God to open doors in more television networks and the program extended its reach.
Challenges and obstacles were overcome ... God had more challenges for the Vision of Faith ministry in 2006, because after an intense search for a building better equipped for the needs of the church, God guided the steps of the Pastor and his leaders towards a school, and with the grace of God, the Vision of Faith ministry could take possession of their promised land. In November 2007 a beautiful complex of buildings that would serve as offices, sanctuary, classrooms for Christian education, and also as a venue for conferences and special meetings that would attract many recognized Christian leaders and singers was inaugurated. God provided this new home so that the mission of the church continues to grow, since with his new home new ministries were also born. Vision of Faith could begin its reach into prisons with an evangelism and counseling group that began to carry the message of hope to men and women within the United States and Mexico. It also started a food bank that along with the food supply carries a message of hope. The vision of this ministry is to reach the Latin people of the United States through discipleship and impact evangelism, and in order to fulfill this vision, the Vision of Faith ministry inaugurated Visión Teológica University in 2006. Beginning with 45 students This preparatory school for leaders is now accredited by FIET and AHET, giving the possibility of granting a ministerial diploma based on 60 credits (academic units) of study. This school aims at the formation and development of leaders for the ministry, providing an accessible training tool for Latinos in the United States.
